About Christina Knavely

Christina Knavely was born and raised in Southern Indiana. She was a member of the National Junior Honors Society in Middle School and went on to Graduate from Jeffersonville High School in 2002. From there she attended Indiana University Southeast and finished her undergraduate degree at University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Concentration on Natural Sciences and a minor in Philosophy. Her pursuit for knowledge continued when she moved to Valparaiso Indiana to attend Law School. During Law School, Christina not only held down a job but also studied International Humanitarian Law abroad in Israel. Christina interned at the Lake County Prosecutor’s office, for the Porter County Court under Judge Alexis and then worked as a law clerk for Judge Aleviesos in the LaPorte County Court. Christina performed pro-bono hours every year for the Tax Clinic starting as a preparer and ending as a supervisor. In her spare time, she was a member of the Trial Advocacy Team, treasurer for the National Lawyer’s Guild and the Student Animal Defense League.

After becoming a licensed attorney, Christina Knavely moved to Indianapolis where she worked at the Marion County Public Defender’s office for four and a half years. She tried all levels of cases and was a supervisor in the level 6 felony division. Indianapolis was not all work, Christina also had her first child in Indianapolis. She learned the importance of legacy as she began raising her daughter. She moved back to Southern Indiana and married Jerid Knavely. The pair had two more children. She currently works at the Clark County Public Defender’s office. Her education continues as she loves learning and continues to find new ways to challenge herself. Motherhood has given her a new perspective on life and conflict resolution.




There is no doubt that the future holds more challenges for Christina Knavely, but she greets those challenges with enthusiasm and efficiency. As a person who always loved and loves to learn, life provides no deficiency of opportunities. As a Judicial Officer, Christina Knavely hopes to bring her unique skills of problem solving, open mindedness, logic, and philosophical inquiry to Floyd County Superior Court 3. She will bring with her fairness, civility, compassion and rationality to the bench.
